[proscons]

The 21-inch EGO Power + Select Cut lawnmower offers performance beyond the power of gasoline. The Multi-Knife Select Cut System includes two replaceable lower knives: the premium cover knife and the premium bagging knife. The premium mulching knife is ideal for weekly cutting, providing the cut quality and durability you expect from a first-class lawnmower. The premium bagging blade is a sturdy blade that turns the grass into small pieces, ideal for bagging and mulching. The two blades can be used interchangeably, depending on the desired cut. The EGO’s upper blade is used with the lower blade used to cut grass into small pieces. It dramatically increases the mowing performance of all types of grass.

The drive technology of the self-propelled EGO sensor is based on years of research and development. Touch Drive technology gives you full control of the self-propelled system in your hand’s palm, using pressure to activate the system. Easily control the variable speed with a convenient button for safe and comfortable operation. The EGO harnesses the power of the industry’s most advanced 56-volt ARC 7.5 Ah lithium battery, offering more than 60 minutes of battery life.

Battery Life

The specifications of the EGO Power + 56V lawnmower indicate that it will run for approximately 45 minutes without charging. This number probably depends on the thickness of the lawn you are cutting. Ours was able to mow the lawn twice without reloading, and each time it took about 45 minutes.

The charging time was according to the EGO announcement: precisely 30 minutes for a full charge.

Light and Agile

With EGO, obstacles can be easily overcome. The blades protrude a few centimeters from the barrier when the cutting deck is lightly pressed against them. Using the cutting deck’s side, you can quickly get around obstacles with very little uncut grass.

The tray is plastic, so don’t hit the blade too hard. Even so, it seemed an advantage to be a little flexible because it wouldn’t hurt to meet it.

Grass Clipping Management

We pack all our grass clippings, so let’s try to secure the bag first. EGO mowers collect cut grass excellently and don’t collect much more. There was pine straw in the yard, and after consulting the lawnmower, most of it was left.

EGO ceiling accessories work surprisingly well. Most of the grass clippings left behind were small enough to be invisible. It doesn’t necessarily apply to thicker lawns, especially those found in wetter areas.

The side discharge ramp is connected at the same point as the mulching attachment. Just push it in, and a spring-loaded rear flap will hold it in place.

The boom works excellent, but don’t expect to be too far from the cutouts. They all coincided with the right rear wheel. But if you don’t wrap and cover the ground, you’re probably not too worried about leaving bits of grass behind.

Storage

EGO has done an excellent job developing lawn mowers that take up little space in your garage or shed. When you are done with the cutter, fold and roll it where you want. It takes up almost no space.

Compared to a conventional lawnmower, using EGO is extremely practical. You can curl up against the wall. The front panel has a handle with which the router can be easily moved when folded.

They recommend keeping the battery in a charger rather than a cutter to ensure a full charge. It takes less than a minute to open, insert the battery, and place the case. Much more comfortable than dealing with gasoline, oil, spark plugs, and the like.

Cut Quality

The new cutter has a 21-inch cutting deck, making it a larger diameter than the original EGO Power + mower. It doesn’t seem like much, but a thumb spread across the lawn makes all the difference. Additionally, most self-propelled gasoline lawnmowers fall into the 21 “through 22” category, so the EGO now matches the cut’s size. Using the battery-powered propulsion system, the EGO self-propelled lawn mower will travel at speeds of 1.8-3.6 mph by merely moving the sliding gear lever to the left and pressing the activation lever the side with your left hand. Slower speeds are great for cutting, while the top speed is excellent if you need to save the router after the job is done. The entire drive force is provided by a rear-mounted motor that drives the left rear wheel. As for the wheels, EGO has updated the wheel bearings on this new cutter to give smoother thrust and further reduce friction. All of this extends the life of the router and makes it easier to use.

Conclusion

Although the EGO Power + 56V cordless lawnmower is not designed for people over 1 hectare, we were very pleasantly surprised by its performance and functions. It is almost silent, flows very well, and we never had a congestion problem due to the terrace’s thickness. The battery charges instantly and is light enough for anyone to use with little effort.

How long will your mowing session last?

The battery lasts up to 60 minutes, so you can mow the lawn for up to half an acre before it runs out. Of course, this depends on factors such as the type of grass, humidity, height and thickness of the grass, etc. On thicker or wet grass, you will notice a 10 to 15-minute delay in self-propelled mode.

What about tall, thick grass?

Well, cut like a pro without tying up like other electric lawnmowers. Check out this video that shows how EGO lawnmowers handle tall grass.

So what can we say about overall performance?

This new model offers superior cutting quality and large cutting capacity and provides us with the possibility of bagging and side unloading—ideal for large lawns.
